Implant Retained Dentures

In some cases there is not enough existing bone to support a denture or you may experience a denture that does not seem to stay in place.  We see this in particular with the bottom teeth since there is no suction present to help hold in a denture.  If this is the case, Dr. Berry may recommend implants to retain your denture.

Depending on several factors, two or four implants can be placed to support the denture providing a stable base allowing you to eat and smile with confidence.

Below are photos from a very happy patient that Dr. Berry placed 4 mini implants to give her a very stable denture that will not move around. The smaller implants do not require as much bone as traditional implants so almost anyone that is unhappy with the fit of their dentures can benefit from mini-implants.

Brush the implant post with a soft brush twice daily and use floss or aids as needed, but avoid brushes with a metal wire as it could scratch the metal.  The implant post in the gums should also be professionally cleaned by one of our hygienists, Denise or Laura, to keep the tissues healthy around them, typically twice a year.  At this time we can also provide a thorough exam including an oral cancer screening.
